With the hope of a return to some normalcy in 2021, we would like to continue offering these free webinars on various topics as a means of continuing to learn, engage and share with our fellow practitioners.

Please register to keep informed about our next webinar. We would also love to hear from you about any topics you are particularly interested in us covering.

Together, we’ll discuss key questions and challenges you may be facing such as:

  • How, when and why would we engage during this period?

How do we connect with people who aren’t online and/or groups that are ‘hard to reach’?

FRIDAY 17 APRIL, 12.30PM - 1.30PM AEST

Based on your suggestions during session #1, this discussion will explore the following questions:

  • Is anyone ‘beyond our reach’ in an online world, what barriers do they face and how to we overcome them?

  • Who is ‘hard to reach’, where can we find them online, and how do we include their voices and really hear them?

  • What are alternative ways to engage and build relationships with those who are not online when we can’t meet face to face?

How  do we really ‘hear each other’ and have a collective experience when we engage online?

FRIDAY 1 MAY, 12.30PM - 1.30PM AEST

So we know who we need to reach and how to reach them -  what next?  This discussion will explore the following key questions:

  • How do we engage collectively –hear each other, encourage collaborative learning and do group work in an online world?

  • How do we avoid the trap of only receiving individual commentary (either in a synchronous and asynchronous setting)?

  • How can we create a shared experience similar to what you can achieve in a face-to-face workshop?

Participation and the pandemic - a debrief

FRIDAY 12 JUNE, 12.30PM - 1.30PM AEST

Three months have passed since our engagement practice began being impacted by physical distancing restrictions. It’s been a roller-coaster ride for many in the sector, requiring adaption, strategic thinking and transition. So, what have we all learnt so far?

  • Gain insights into what we’ve learnt about engaging through a crisis - what’s worked, what hasn’t and what we should consider taking forward.

  • Experience an online, facilitated ‘debrief’ process that you can emulate or draw inspiration from in your next project.

  • Influence where we take the discussion series next, helping us to understand the engagement dilemmas you want us to tackle during future sessions.
