integrating online & in person deliberation

hepburn shire's council plan

Project snapshot

Hepburn Shire Council’s engagement on its Council Plan in early 2013 was a very interesting integration of face to face and on line activities.

The OurSay project started with a series of town meetings, followed by an online forum and culminated in a large-scale ‘Conference of Big Ideas’ workshop.

MosaicLab co-founder Kimbra White facilitated the Conference of Big Ideas. The OurSay process generated 264 ideas, 3,399 votes were cast and 688 comments were posted; a huge response as compared to the typical submission process on Council Plans. The work was recognised by the International Association for Public Participation with the project winning Victorian Project of the Year in 2013.
