ENVIRONMENT & SOCIAL IMPACT
OUr environmental policy
MosaicLab is committed to minimising our impact on the environment. Our team is located across Victoria and we work remotely from home offices, which reduces resource use and travel.
All printing is double-sided (where appropriate) and printed on recycled paper.
All paper and office materials are recycled, if recyclable.
Posters are laminated to ensure longevity and make them reusable.
All meals, tea and coffee are served using re-usable crockery and we encourage our clients to
do the same.
The use of digital technology is encouraged during meetings and workshops, where possible, to reduce paper use.
Carpooling is strongly encouraged when more than one person is travelling to an event.
Meetings are held over the phone or through videoconference to reduce environmental impacts associated with travel, where appropriate.
We support staff to reduce waste and implement environmentally friendly strategies within their own home offices.
our social impact
MosaicLab is a small organisation and has been operating as a company since July 2017. We have a clear direction and commitment to corporate social responsibility (policy written and adopted).
Women’s equality within the team
MosaicLab supports women’s equality and safety in the workplace. MosaicLab is 33% owned by female leaders and our team consists of 66% women. We are a predominantly female organisation and are developing skilled female leaders in our daily work.
We are committed to finding an equal gender mix in our organisation going forward where possible. We have excellent representation of women across all levels within MosaicLab.
Our organisation works remotely, providing increased access to flexible working arrangements.
Opportunities provided to disadvantaged Victorians
In our time of operation MosaicLab has worked alongside people with different abilities. We run workshops around the topic of inclusion and access and continually refine our skills and approaches to ensure greater inclusion of people with different abilities.
Where possible and appropriate we would look to create opportunities for working with people with different abilities through this project.
Working with traditional owners
MosaicLab commits to continue to demonstrate our support - to walk alongside First Peoples, such as:
prioritising projects with self-determination principles
acknowledging and respecting cultural protocols
advocating for amplifying Indigenous voices in all engagement activities
providing pro bono support to First Nations organisations
continue incorporating personal connections into our acknowledgement of country
continued learning and relationship building.
Opportunities provided to Aboriginal Victorians
We intend to improve and increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment opportunities where possible through our work. We have worked with local Registered Aboriginal Parties and local tribal communities to help with ‘whole of country plans’ and have a working knowledge of the issues and opportunities within some aboriginal communities.
We intend to look for more of these opportunities in the work we undertake going forward. Under this contract, where appropriate, we will look to create employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and individuals.
Where possible MosaicLab looks to support social enterprises or Aboriginal businesses. This has meant previously purchasing workshop materials from Aboriginal traders (e.g. Supply Nation). Currently the options to purchase from these enterprises is limited due to limited availability of the materials we require.
